About Ido
Ido Toledano is a freelance dancer, choreographer, movement director, and certified Gaga teacher based in Europe.
Throughout his career, Ido has worked with renowned dance companies including Batsheva Dance Company and Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company. He has both performed in and collaborated on original creations by some of the world’s leading voices in contemporary dance, including Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Bobbi Jene Smith, Or Schraiber, Sharon Eyal, and Thomas Hauert, among others.
Alongside his performance career, Ido teaches Gaga and improvisation practices internationally, leading workshops and classes at acclaimed dance companies, professional training programs, and leading educational institutions.
Ido's choreographic journey began in 2019, when he won first prize in the annual Israeli Ministry of Education Choreography Competition.
Since then, he has continued to develop a choreographic practice that examines and breaks down theatrical dance into its fundamental elements and patterns. Working methodically from the individual performer to larger compositional structures, his work is shaped by an artistic interest in the varied themes and questions that arise from this research and his personal life. Over the past few years, his works have been presented at various venues and festivals. Most recently at the Greater Bay Area Dance Festival in Shenzhen, China, as well as in Shanghai.
